Your Data Rights

Last updated: 14 July 2026

You have rights over your personal data under UK data protection law. This page explains them in plain English and how to make a request.

First, an important note for patients

If you are a patient of a healthcare practice that uses Remy, the practice — not Remy — is the "controller" of your data and your first point of contact. Please contact the practice directly. Remy processes data on the practice's behalf and will support them in responding to your request.

If you are a Remy account holder (practice staff) or a website visitor, you can contact us directly using the details below.

Your rights

  • Be informed — know what data we hold and why (see our Privacy Policy).
  • Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), where applicable.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
  • Portability — receive certain data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time (without affecting earlier processing).
  • Complain — lodge a complaint with the ICO (though we'd like the chance to help first).

How to make a request

Email privacy@remy.health with:

  • your name and the email associated with your account (if any), and
  • what you'd like us to do (e.g. access, correct, delete).

We may need to verify your identity before acting, to protect your data.

How quickly we respond

We aim to respond within one month. If your request is complex or you've made several, we may extend by up to two further months and will tell you if so. Our service is normally free; we may charge a reasonable fee or decline only where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, and we'll explain why.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, contact us first at privacy@remy.health. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office:
